IPDET comprises a vibrant community of professionals in the field from all over the world. This is valued throughout the program. We offer spaces and various leisure activities to meet, connect and exchange with each other.

LEISURE TIME EXCURSIONS
July 13 (Sun) | 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Only for participants staying the first and second week in a row, IPDET organizes a full-day excursion to the Alps on July 13 (Sunday). The trip takes you to the mountain site of Switzerland where you enjoy a spectacular view, a nice lunch and have the possibility to do easy hiking routes.

The city of Bern offers a guided walking tour through the old part of the city, free of charge for IPDET participants. Please sign up at the board in the lobby for one of the following dates:

Bring your sportswear with you.

During summer, public swimming pools in Bern are free of charge and are the perfect opportunity to cool down and relax.
Bern’s largest public swimming pool, Weyermannshaus (Stöckackerstrasse 33), is near the Europaplatz (several public transport possibilities).
The Freibad Marzili (Marzilistrasse 29) and Lorraine (Uferweg 70) are outdoor swimming pools with access to the Aare River.
Please be aware that swimming in the river is very dangerous!
Doors open from Monday to Friday 7:00 am – 5:45 pm
You can train your body in the Center of Sports and Science (Fabrikstrasse 8, 3012 Bern).

World Exhibition
July XX | 3:15 – 4:15 p.m.
Participants meet in the garden to examine the exhibits they brought from their culture or region. At the end they have the chance to snatch an item by bargaining or exchanging.

In Bern Bethlehem you can find a network of trails that lead through the Bremgarten Forest.
